Music Monday - Dean Martin

This weeks Monday Music is Amore by the very suave Dean Martin

This song reminds me of my nan, she seemed surprised that I knew all the words...of course I knew all the words, it's amazing.

Anybody got a music monday I can listen to?

Fifth Dimension

It's that time again!  Music Monday

This is another of my all time favourite songs.

Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In

I first heard this song on a film called The Sure Thing with the lovely John Cusack.  He gets a ride to California with Tim Robbins who, along with his partner, sing a medley of show tunes.

From that moment on I was in love and I mean IN LOVE with the song and the film........and John Cusack but sshhhhh don't tell anyone about that bit!

Excuse the poor quality of this youtube clip but it's the only one I could find. If you want to see the scene I am talking about skip in 1min50

And now

Well, now my whole  family's favourite

At family gatherings my family regularly try to get me to sing it for them.....remember I told you before about my A-mazing singing voice!

They like it for it's comedy value

What? It's a difficult song to sing, alright!!

I'd love to share my singing with you but I'm afraid I haven't yet got around to taping myself but if any of you want to give it a go I'd love to listen.

Doris Day

So, what do you know, it's Friday again!!  Wow, didn't that week go fast?  So if it's Friday that means it's time for another Vintage Belle and this week it's one of my all time favourite musical singers

Doris Day

Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps (Quizas, Quizas, Quizas) by Doris Day on Grooveshark

Such an awesome song.....I always turn the volume right up and annoy the neighbours with my toneless singing....with the volume up high I sound fabulous

And not only was she an amazing singer she was stunning to boot AND funny!!

Have a great weekend everyone, I hope the sun comes out.
What plans do you have for the weekend?  Anything exciting?  I'll be filling you in on my quietness as well, I've been designing a blog for my mum and whilst that sounds easy it's taken me days.

Keep Smiling

The Beach Boys

I'd planned to put this song on a few days ago for Music Monday as it's my ALL time favourite Beach Boys song but listening to it this morning has made me a little sad melancholy.....now, I'm putting this down to a number of factors.

It's raining.....AGAIN

I've had both my parents visiting over the last month and a half and I've had to say bye to them 2 weeks running.

My house is EMPTY....all my kids are either in school or pre-school now (that's going to take a bit of getting used to, although I have managed to get a lot of work done this morning!!)

So I've added this one to brighten my mood, COME ON hahaha look at the dancing.....BIG smiles ALL round now!

And now I'm off to get NOISE MAKER No.1 as he's just finishing pre-school.....catch you later GROOVERS!

Elvis

Yay, it's Music Monday again ad this week I'm playing my all time favourite singer.....the great, the almighty, the totally gorgeous especially in his GI uniform......ELVIS! Not only do I love him but my wonderful mum loves him so this is a special music Monday because my mum moved "went on an extended holiday" to France yesterday and I'm already missing her.

Happy Bank Holiday Monday xx

The Bee Gees

I'm a bit late posting my Monday Music today, seeing as Monday is almost over.  I'm guessing before you even read the post title that you knew I would choose these guys today.  Such sad news!  Without further ado........The Bee Gees

Bobby Darin

Happy Monday everyone, my music choice for you this week is the great Bobby Darin.  I fell in love with this song after watching A Life Less Ordinary and although Ewan McGregor did a fine fine job of singing it you cannot beat the original.  He also makes me giggle a lot, what a fabulous performance.  And just to make it that little bit better the sun has finally poked its head out of a very dull and grey sky!  Enjoy

Glen Miller

Glen Miller March 1904 - December 1944 (Missing in Action)

For me Glen Miller is dancing round the front room with my nan, she used to swing me around, spinning me and catching me again.  We had so much fun and I love Glen Miller's music to this day and beyond.

Look how amazingly beautiful she was.  I miss her all the time but I have such wonderful memories of us dancing and giggling.

The Barry Sisters

OK, before you listen to my Music Monday offering this week you should do this first.  Make sure that you speakers are turned right up and that you are stood up ready to jump and spin......are you ready?  Press play!

I love this song so much, I cannot help but jump around my house like a mad fool and it always ALWAYS makes me smile.

The Barry Sisters, Clara and Minnie Bagelman, later changed their names to Claire and Myrna.  They were born in the Bronx and started out as The Bagelman sisters.  They sang Yiddish Swing and recorder with other Jewish singers such as Barbra Streisand and Moishe Oysher.

They just ooze glamour.

Now tell me you didn't dance around like crazy?

Marie Laforet

I love love love this with a passion!!

I love it more than the original.

I first heard this on a snowboarding video on vimeo and I fell in love with it immediately.

Turn it up loud and have a groove in your kitchen! Happy Sunday

Dream a Little Dream of Me

This is one of my all time favourite songs. Mama Cass has the most incredible voice I have ever heard.

In fact I love this song so much that I have requested it as one of my funeral songs.....sorry to bring a morbid note to such a beautiful tune! Turn it up and sway with your loved ones.
