Ann Blyth

I have a really special Friday Vintage Belle this week.  It's special because she is the 2nd cousin of one of my closest friends.  Can you imagine having someone so famous and glamorous in  your family?  Perhaps you do, how amazing would that be...let me know, I'm so nosey!

Ann Blyth born 16th August 1928

She started her acting career in 1941 on Broadway. Then in 1944 she was signed to Universal Studios and starred in many films including some musicals such as Babes On Swing Street.

1945 saw her loaned to Warner Brothers who cast her as Veda Pierce Forrester, the conniving ungrateful daughter of Joan Crawford.  I really wanted to post a clip her her famous argument with Joan Crawford, where she gets slapped by Joan...it's very dramatic and you can see why she received an Academy Award Nomination for her portrayal.

Instead of a clip you will have to make do with this still just before they run up the stairs and fight.

Another stunning and glamorous Friday Vintage Belle.....and one with a wonderful, loving and generous 2nd cousin.
