Breakfast Breakfast Breakfast

Whats your favourite kind of breakfast?  Are you a cooked breakfast kind of person or a cereal addict?

Recently I made homemade waffles for my husband on his birthday and they were pretty yummy, but I must admit I am very partial to porridge.  There's just something about oatmeal that is filling and warming and versatile.

Mostly I just have my porridge with milk and a naughty sprinkle of sugar, my kids love it with honey but our new favourite is cold oats soaked in cold milk, topped with cut up apple and a generous sprinkle of cinnamon......my kids add an extra taste sensation with a sprinkle of dessicated coconut .
Excuse the chips but I was fending off a rather large dinosaur!
I'd love to hear some new recipes for breakfast especially if they involve porridge

  1. Hahaha, I love this picture! I'm a cereal girl, I must say! But when we have a sleep in and start the day off kind of slow..I fancy pancakes for breakfast as well or toasties. I do like porridge but only when it gets colder, like now..and mostly during lunch. Simple porridge just like yours, so sorry it means no tips from this Dutchie here. :)

  3. I've always love oatmeal with maple syrup, but if I'm really going all out for breakfast, I'll make chilaquiles -- it's not as difficult to make as it looks, and it's a crowd pleaser!
