My Flapjacks

My world famous flapjack recipe

Or rather, the slightly famous around these parts flapjack recipe.

Hello, my name is Chantal, and I'm a flapjack addict.

There, I said it!

So, I was just wondering if you guys wanted my recipe?

You do?

great!

Here, it is then.

4oz Butter (114 grams)
4oz Brown Sugar (114 grams)
1 dessert spoon of golden syrup (this is rough guesstimate, my dessert measure is huge)
5oz oats (142 grams)
3oz dessicated coconut (85 grams)
handful of pumpkin seeds
handful of sesame seeds
handful of sunflower seeds

(ps my gram measurements were gained via google)

Preheat your oven to 180c (350f or gas mark 4)
Melt the butter, golden syrup and brown sugar over a medium heat (don't burn this!)

Mix in the seeds, oats and coconut

Squash into a grease proof tray

Cook for 15-20 (if you have a fan oven I would keep checking on it from about 10 mins in, if you have a rubbish fan over like mine I also turn mine around so it bakes evenly)

Now, while this is cooking, go get your wooden spoon, the one you patted the mixture down with, and lick it clean.

As soon as you bring the tray out of the oven mark out your slices with a knife and score around the edge

Only remove from the tray once it is completely cold and firm and break into yummy scrummy slices.

Ta da simple eh?

Go put the kettle on, sit down and eat a slice or three with your feet up.

You deserve it.

It's hard work baking.

Just ask my mother!

  1. Yum - I like the addition of pumpkin and sesame, will have to give this a try once we've consumed the blueberry muffins and eccles cakes :) Shaz x
